Licenses, Tags and Permits – Nonresident

To hunt and fish in Idaho you will need a license, and you may need a tag or permit, as well. Below is a full list of licenses, tags and permits and how much they cost for nonresident hunters and anglers.

 

NOTE: Beginning May 1, 2017, a new $10.00 Access / Depredation Management fee will be required to purchase an Adult Nonresident annual hunting, fishing or trapping license; A $4.00 fee will be required to purchase all other annual nonresident licenses (Junior and Disabled American Veteran license). The fee for purchase of 3-year licenses is double. The fee would be paid when purchasing your first annual license of the year.

• $ 22.75 Fishing - Daily (first Each consecutive day at initial time of purchase add $7.00.

• $ 23.75 Fishing - Junior (14-17 yrs)
  Nonresident youth of any age who want their own fish limit must buy a Junior fishing license.

• $ 185.00 Hunting - Adult
  Includes 3-day fishing license.

• $ 551.50 Hunting - Adult - 3 Year
  Includes 3-day fishing license each year.

• $ 31.75 Hunting - Disabled American Veteran (DAV)
  Must present a letter from the Veterans Affairs office showing a percentage of disability of at least 40% disability. Includes 3-day fishing.

• $ 31.75 Hunting - Junior Mentored (10-17 yrs)
  Anyone hunting with this license must be accompanied in the field by an adult license holder close enough to be within normal conversation or hearing range without shouting or the aid of electronic devices. 9-year old may purchase this license to enter a controlled hunt, if they will be 10 years-old at the time of the hunting season.

  Mentored and Disabled American Veteran (DAV) Must have either a Junior Mentored hunting or a Nonresident DAV hunting license. Those with a Junior Mentored hunting license must be accompanied by an adult with a tag(s) for the same species.

  Valid to take a black bear or mountain lion, if a season is open for that species, instead of a deer where and when the deer tag is valid, and there is an open deer season in that same unit.

  Mentored and Disabled American Veteran (DAV) Must have either a Junior Mentored hunting or a Nonresident DAV hunting license. Those with a Junior Mentored hunting license must be accompanied by an adult with a tag(s) for the same species. The junior mentored/DAV deer tags are not valid for bear, mountain lion or gray wolf. Price not valid for nonresident general season deer or elk tags purchased as second tags.
